The South Metropolitan Health Service (SMHS) 2019/20 annual report highlights the fantastic contribution our workforce makes in delivering on our promise of excellent health care, every time.

This year has been a year like no other for our health service, and the health system as a whole, as we rose to the challenge presented by the COVID-19 pandemic.

It is a testament to our people that the health service was able to adapt and respond so effectively to COVID-19. Their agility, expertise and professionalism was on show at all stages of the pandemic.

Amongst it all, we continued to provide vital services for the people in our community who depend on us for their care. Our sincere thanks to each and every one of you for the important role you have played.

The heightened challenges of COVID-19 will eventually subside, but the commitment of our employees to providing great care to our patients will remain strong and at the forefront of everything we do.

The unwavering dedication of our workforce; it is a testament to what can be achieved when we are united.
