SMHS takes in a large geographic area that includes major metropolitan hubs, rural regional centres and rapidly expanding coastal towns. The service is anchored by our hospitals that include Fiona Stanley Hospital, Fremantle Hospital, Rockingham General Hospital and Peel Health Campus. Alongside this is ongoing expansion of community mental health services within our region.

We are dedicated and committed to delivering excellent health care, every time. We set out to achieve this with a strong set of values of Care, Integrity, Respect, Excellence and Teamwork. With increasing demand for our services, we are investing to launch several new services including:

  • new community care units
  • additional mental health facilities in the growing Peel region
  • a Behavioural Assessment Urgent Care Centre within Rockingham General Hospital’s Emergency Department
  • additional Mental Health Hospital in the Home beds.
  • an Assertive Response Team service in Rockingham and Peel region
  • a neurostimulation outpatient service at Fremantle Hospital
  • additional inpatient mental health beds at Fremantle Hospital.

To support these new levels of investment, we are seeking skilled and passionate people who want to join our incredible mental health teams and contribute to their vision of providing recovery-focussed mental health services in partnership with consumers, carers, and the community.
