It is with great pride we congratulate the winners of the 2022 South Metropolitan Health Service (SMHS) Excellence Awards, announced Thursday 20 October.

The projects, teams and individuals recognised last night are champions amongst so many other impressive projects through which our hospital and community teams work hard to improve the way care is given. Read the winners' profiles and see all finalists.

While COVID-19 was a huge focus across our health service in the last 12 months, our teams remained overwhelmingly committed to implementing solutions and innovative practices to address other health care challenges.

Our health service has amazing individuals who daily demonstrate compassion, empathy, and understanding when giving care.

The SMHS Excellence Awards acknowledges those teams and individuals that inspire us to be better and go further.
